The Grenfell Tower fire (June 2017) was the catalyst for thorough and urgent reviews of fire safety building techniques and regulations in many
parts of the world, including in Australia, where the Neo 200 fire in Melbourne in February 2019 also highlighted the role of external claddings in the spread of fire in high rise construction.
In March 2018, the Australian National Construction Code (NCC), Volume 1, was amended, to prohibit the use of combustible cladding on new high-rise buildings greater than three storeys. Since that amendment there have been other additions to the NCC governing the design of external walls to ensure that they do not contribute to the spread of fire in a building and between buildings. The NCC instructs that external walls of Type A and Type B buildings must be constructed wholly of materials that are non combustible. The NCC also sets out that combustibility be determined by testing in accordance with AS 1530.1-1994 (Methods for fire tests on building materials, components and structures, Part 1; Combustibility test for materials). Euromix™ Renders, have, like most other pre mixed renders, been accepted as inherently non combustible
due to their component constituents and the method of production and application. Recognising the importance of this critical area of building design, construction and certification, Euromix is in the midst of testing the combustibility of all its renders in accordance with AS 1530.1.
The tests for Euromix™ Render, Euromix™ Cream Render, Euromix™ Skim Coat and FP Render have been completed by the Innovative Fire and Façade Engineering (IFFE) Group at RMIT University and IGNIS Testing Labs.
In accordance with the criteria of AS 1530.1, and; as set out in Section 7 of the CSIRO publication (Fire Safety Guideline for External Walls, Version , 18 April 2016), Euromix™ Render, Euromix™ Cream Render, Euromix™ Skim Coat, Euromix™ FP Render are deemed non-combustible render.

Euromix™ Cream Render is a multipurpose render, suitable for use both as a base coat where finishing renders, texture coats, etc. or architectural finishes (like tiles) are to be applied and as a finish coat, where a high quality sponge finish is required. It can be applied by hand or by machine, in layers ranging from 2mm to 6mm at a time.
Euromix™ Skim Coat is designed to be used as a finishing coat over base render or other finished surfaces. Euromix™ Skim can be applied in thicknesses from 1 to 4mm and be floated to a smooth flat finish or sponged to give an even textured finish.

It can be applied by hand or by machine, in layers ranging from 2mm to 6mm at a time.
Euromix™ Render is a dry premixed full polymer render - with no added bond necessary. Particularly suitable for application over sheet and panel substrates, like masonry brickwork, AAC Hebel, Polystyrene (EPS), fibre cement (FC), and plaster-based material. FP Render boasts up to 12mm
Texture Coatings & Paints Coatings not considered as Render(s).
According to Australian Building Codes Board C1.14 (L), textured paints coatings are considered a permitted ancillary element and are not required to achieve an AS1530.1 classification. Euromix Finecoat, Sandstone, Sand Finish Texture Coatings & Euromix Euroflex & Matt Paint Coatings are formulated using the same ingredients as a paint or "textured paint".
